Dota 2 is a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed and published by Valve. Two teams of five players compete to destroy the opposing team's Ancient, a large structure located within their base. Players control powerful heroes, each with unique abilities and roles, and work together across a symmetrical map divided by three lanes.
The game features over 120 playable heroes spanning a wide array of archetypes — carries, supports, initiators, and more — offering enormous strategic depth and variety. Matches involve farming gold, securing objectives, and coordinating team fights that reward mechanical skill and tactical communication.
