Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening is an open-world survival MMO developed by Funcom, set on the desert planet Arrakis from Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi universe. Players must master the harsh environment — managing heat, water, and deadly sandstorms — while harvesting the precious resource spice and fending off hostile factions like the Sardaukar.\n\nThe game blends survival crafting with large-scale multiplayer, allowing players to build bases ranging from small outposts to elaborate strongholds, craft ornithopters for aerial traversal, and engage in political and military power struggles across a shared persistent world. Combat, exploration, and diplomacy all play roles as players progress from struggling survivors to guild leaders.\n\nReleased on PC in June 2025, the game features a cinematic story that serves as an alternate-history take on the Dune narrative, alongside both solo and cooperative play. Console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are planned for September 2026.
