Identity V is a free-to-play asymmetrical survival horror game developed and published by NetEase Games. One player takes on the role of the Hunter, tasked with catching and eliminating four Survivors before they can escape the manor. The 1v4 cat-and-mouse format is the heart of each match, with Hunters and Survivors having entirely different abilities and objectives.
Survivors must decode cipher machines scattered across the map to power exit gates while evading the Hunter. Each character — whether Hunter or Survivor — has a unique skill set and backstory rooted in a Victorian Gothic aesthetic, giving the game a distinctive visual style compared to other asymmetrical horror titles.
The game features a roster of dozens of characters unlockable through in-game currency or events, along with cosmetic skins, crossover collaborations, and seasonal events. It has a large competitive scene, particularly in Asia, and is one of the most popular mobile asymmetrical multiplayer games globally.
