Path of Exile

Path of Exile is a free-to-play action RPG developed by Grinding Gear Games, set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. Players control exiled criminals who must survive and grow powerful across a brutal continent filled with monsters, dungeons, and deadly bosses. The game is renowned for its extreme depth of character customization through an enormous passive skill tree with over 1,300 nodes and a gem-based active skill system.

The game features seven character classes, each with unique starting attributes, and a complex itemization system where rare and unique items can dramatically alter playstyles. Path of Exile's economy is entirely barter-based, using various orbs and currency items instead of gold.

Grinding Gear Games releases regular challenge leagues that introduce new mechanics, story content, and economies, keeping the game fresh for its dedicated player base. A sequel, Path of Exile 2, entered early access in late 2024 and runs alongside the original game as a separate title.
