Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play open-world action RPG developed and published by Kuro Games. Set in a post-apocalyptic world called Solaris-3, players take on the role of the Rover, an amnesiac protagonist navigating a civilization rebuilding after a catastrophic event known as the Lament. The world is inhabited by Tacet Discords — hostile creatures formed from corrupted sound energy — which players must combat using special Resonators with unique abilities.

Gameplay blends fast-paced real-time combat with deep exploration across a large open world. Players build a team of Resonators, each with distinct elemental skills and ultimate abilities, in a gacha-style collection system. The game features a strong emphasis on fluid movement mechanics including wall-running, gliding, and grappling, giving traversal a dynamic feel.

Wuthering Waves launched globally in May 2024 and has since expanded to PC (Windows and macOS), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile platforms. It is frequently compared to Genshin Impact but distinguishes itself with more aggressive combat pacing and a darker science-fantasy aesthetic.
