XDefiant

XDefiant was a free-to-play, arena-style first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft San Francisco. Set within the broader Ubisoft universe, the game featured factions drawn from iconic Ubisoft franchises — including The Division, Far Cry, Splinter Cell, and Watch Dogs — each with unique abilities and playstyles that added a hero-shooter dimension to traditional gunfight mechanics.\n\nThe game focused on fast-paced 6v6 multiplayer matches across a variety of modes such as Domination, Occupy, Escort, and Zone Control. Players could customize loadouts and choose from faction-specific ultras to turn the tide of battle, with gunplay designed to appeal to fans of classic arena shooters.\n\nXDefiant launched in May 2024 and attracted a large player base at launch, but Ubisoft announced its shutdown in December 2024. The servers went offline permanently in June 2025, making the game no longer playable.
