When your earnings become available
Earnings from a sale become available once the order is received and its protection period ends. Disputes and chargebacks hold them longer.
From delivery to withdrawal
- Pending: you’ve delivered and the buyer is checking the order. Your order page shows The buyer is checking the order. Marked as received: and the date.
- Held (Warranty): the order is received, either because the buyer selected Mark as received or automatically when the check ended. The sale is recorded and held for the protection period, counted from that day. Your order page shows Funds release: and the date.
- Available to Withdraw: protection has ended and the order is complete. You can request a payout.
Your wallet’s Balance Overview tab shows each of these amounts in the Seller Earnings card.
How long the protection period is
The period depends on the product type and the game. The order keeps the period that applied when it was placed.
After delivery, the buyer has 3 days to check it before it's marked received. Protection then continues from the day the order is received:
| Product type | Protection after the order is received |
|---|---|
| Currency | 5 to 7 days |
| Items | 5 to 10 days |
| Accounts | 5 to 14 days |
| Top-ups | 5 days |
| Gift cards | 4 days |
Faster payouts for established sellers
If you sell a lot with few cancellations, your new orders of currency, items, top-ups and keys skip the protection period: the earnings become available as soon as the order is received. Accounts, gift cards and games with their own protection period always keep it.
A seller qualifies when their paid orders over the last 180 days meet all of these:
| Established sellers | |
|---|---|
| Paid orders | At least 200 |
| Sales | At least $3,000.00 |
| Cancelled orders | 15% or less |
We check who qualifies every day. Orders keep the rule that applied when they were placed, so qualifying or dropping out never changes an order already in progress.
Disputes
If the buyer opens a dispute, the sale’s earnings move to Held (Disputes) until it’s resolved:
- Resolved in your favor, or the buyer accepts a replacement: the earnings stay held until the order’s protection period ends, then become available.
- Partial refund: your share is reduced by the refunded part and held until the protection period ends.
- Full refund: the sale is cancelled and you’re not paid for it.
See Disputes for sellers for how to respond.
Chargebacks
A chargeback is when the buyer asks their bank to reverse a card payment. While one is open, the sale’s earnings are held and the buyer can’t also get a refund on PlayerBay. When the bank decides:
- Decided in PlayerBay’s favor: your earnings are released.
- Lost, on an order you had delivered: you keep the sale. PlayerBay covers the loss.
- Lost, on an order you hadn’t delivered or that was in a dispute: the sale is reversed.
