When an order completes

An order completes when you mark it received or, if you don’t, automatically when your protection period ends.

An order completes in one of two ways: you select Mark as Received once you’ve checked it, or it completes automatically when your protection period ends. You can still open a dispute after marking it received, until protection ends. Once protection is over, the seller is paid and you can no longer open a dispute yourself.

Marking an order received

After the seller delivers, check that everything works and matches the listing. Then:

  1. Open the order.
  2. Select Mark as Received.
  3. For accounts, tick the checks in the confirmation, such as The received account information works.
  4. Select Mark as received to confirm.

The order status changes to Received, and you can leave a review for the seller.

Automatic completion

If you don’t mark the order received, it completes on its own when your protection period ends. The order page shows the date next to Order will be Auto-Completed:, and we remind you before it happens.

What changes when protection ends

  • You can’t open a dispute yourself. If something goes wrong later, use Contact support on the order page.
  • The seller’s earnings for the order become available to them.
  • If the order completed automatically and you hadn’t reviewed the seller, a positive review is left for them.
